Super Cub pilots operating in the harsh Alaskan wilds asked TrickAir to develop a ski featuring increased flotation, lighter weight, and extreme durability. We answered with the Alaskan ski, built to handle deep snow and daily abuse.
The Alaskan features a larger surface area for maximum flotation in a wheel-penetration ski. The body is constructed from the same high-tech, lightweight carbon fiber composite as our 3000 ski and is tested to 3500 lbs. The internal chrome-moly pedestal more closely resembles the lighter weight Explorer structure, minimizing the overall weight of the ski. The high-molecular plastic base offers protection from unimproved terrain and is easy to replace with simple tools. An optional gravel guard offers added protection when operating on gravel strips or rough fields.
While the Alaskan has a gross weight rating of 3000 pounds, it is intended for use on airplanes such as the Super Cub and Husky. If you are looking for a wheel-penetration ski that can handle pavement and deep powder, the TrickAir Alaskan is for you.
