RUNWAYS

May be an image of map

We have decided to move a bit north to get to some better ice and use some already hard packed areas for the tent and parking of aircraft.
Plan on landing to the west and making a right turn off and use the hard packed snowmobile path to get back to the bay in front of the Blue Moose. We will have our tent and food out there with some firepits and warm beverages.
As always we will be on 122.90 and we will be parking in the area to the north of the runway and towards the bay. I have attached a small map of the goings on. Please don’t overfly the red areas and use left traffic and depart up the channel or in the gap to the NW and not over cabins, The snowmobile trail is marked in blue and parking is in orange.

CONDITIONS:

No ice runway this year. As always landing is at own risk . Monitor Jackson Seaplane Base Facebook page for updates as we go through the week.

We are moving north a bit for better ice and more packed snow from other events. Please see the below map. Runway is in green and parking is in orange. Please note the no fly over areas in red and use caution as we are sharing the space with snowmobilers and the general public. The snowmobile trail is marked in blue
We will be 100% on the lake and will have fire, food and beverages. We will have a few bonfire pits and some pallets with plywood to get your feet off the ice.
We weren’t able to plow a runway again for our small wheeled friends but we have a hard packed good ski plane/tundra tire surface. The Blue Moose (formerly the Horseshoe Lake Inn) will cater a lunch menu. (As always food is compliments of Trick Air Skis).
If you are looking to come up on Friday and/or stay over on Saturday Big Sandy Lodge is the next lake over.
Big Sandy Lodge phone is 218-426-5040
We will have snow and runway information update on the Trick AIr and Jackson Seaplane Base Facebook pages the morning of.
